Nashville Vacay!

Image
Hey Y'all (southern voice)!! Megan and I took a trip to Nashville over Memorial Day Weekend for a quick getaway. I had never been, and she loves the city. After looking over our remaining vacation days, a short trip was all we could do after using much of our vacation time for our wedding in Mexico. While we prefer to fly for most vacations, we had figured out about how much money we could spend from leftover income in a month on our trip and determined it was best to drive. We did check flights a few days before going one last time in case we could find something inexpensive. Spending 8-9 hours in the car with some people can be a tough time, but we really enjoyed it. We talked about all different things like sightseeing, what we all wanted to do in Nashville, and how much a lot of the views seemed the same the whole way from Milwaukee to Nashville. Shoutout to big cities along the way (Chicago, Indianapolis, Louisville) changing up the sites. While in Nashville we did th...

New hobbies...oh how they amuse me

Sticking with the theme of evolution of my younger self, I wanted to share a bit on one of my newest passions. Since starting and completing my Master's, I've become much more interested in self-education. I have found different ways to spend free time to make myself a more complete person. However, this was very expensive entertainment, probably around $600/month and more than my rent payment. During this time, I did do ...

Life in my 30's has certainly changed. I spent my 20's mostly single, enjoying the "free" life, which meant going to bars, meeting friends, new and old, and often having blurry memories that seemed so great. This "free" lifestyle, turned out to be incredibly expensive and didn't get me very far personally, professionally, or where I wanted to be as a person. As I matured and created some career goals, I had a clearer vision of what I was truly seeking. I became much more goal-oriented, focused, and dialed-in on what I was looking for in life. An opportunity came along to coach college basketball and get my Master's degree at an extremely discounted rate, which is something I had been considering for some time. The coaching opportunity was something I had dreamed about to try as a full-time career. I took advantage of this opportunity and had some great times in the coaching field. I spent about a year and a half coaching and making a lot of progr...
