It's official...we're moving!

Hey Y'all! It is official...we're moving! We have decided on an apartment, requested a new lease end date to get out early, and start a new lease in Shorewood.

Quick recap - we we're told our lease renewal was coming in the mail for 2+ months and finally when I emailed was told, "Our son wants to live in your unit. You will not have the opportunity to renew." Our lease was scheduled to end July 31. They gave some flexibility to move out during August. After being incredibly frustrated, we decided to take action and start looking and found a great place in Shorewood scheduled to start in July. We negotiated to terminate mid-July to avoid duplicate rent and stop paying rent to people who didn't want us around.

We are really excited about our new apartment, but are dreading moving. In the next week we'll pack up the boxes we've collected recently and plan to crush this moving process. We had three good friends, Chad Dekker, Adam Schmitz and Kieven Sperry, mostly volunteer their time and efforts, and we are thrilled to have them. We are hoping to complete the moving process in a Friday night. If you're available to lend a hand on Friday, July 13, or Saturday, July 14, let us know and you can stop over and help for an hour. We'll feed you (food or drinks)!

While this whole situation was frustrating to say the least, it brought us closer. We relied on each other through the process and got to choose an apartment, through a thorough apartment search. We also realized how many of you care about us by reaching out with good vibes and volunteering your help.

During our time at our current apartment, we've really enjoyed having a balcony. It was great for spring/summer/fall nights, Megan's tanning, music and drinks hangout, and even starting a garden. We'll need to reinvent that space in our new place but can't wait to make that transition.

Megan and I have said that we need to be better at helping others in times like this because of how much we have now see it is needed in our situation. With that said, let us know if you need help with anything. We're probably looking at August or beyond to do so, but our schedule should open up at that point.

Once we're all moved in, we'll share some photos of the new place, and hopefully have friends over to grill out!

Cheers to good family, good friends, good vibes, and all things good!
